Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement ANEURIA (Jesus Loved You) Aneuria is a core member of Jesus Loved You collective, household name on leading labels, clubs and festivals in the Central Europe and Western Balkans and trusty studio sidekick of Ian F and Tomy DeClerque. Lately he is redefining his artistic expression, fusing house roots, Balkan ethno and sounds of nature with techno patterns, taking his productions towards warmer, organic spheres. This refreshment was in sync with the new Jesus Loved You music vision and partly influenced by long studio sessions with Valentino Kanzyani. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Aneuria is still quite a fresh name on the scene. His earlier deejay performances were all about house but he soon realized that his interests grow deeper in experimental, underground, and not only electronic sounds. One of the first artists that noticed his talent and endless passion for music was his countryman and one of the original techno pioneers DJ Veztax. Without prejudice he backed him up and invited him to join the Interparty crew. Since then he became regular in the clubs and at the festivals in the Western Balkans and Central Europe. In the early 00’s Aneuria and his then performing and producing partner Mexx founded a Muzika-Eclectica platform. It was designed to spread their sound trough the clubland. Their combos reflected minimalistic approach to groovy techno and were crowned with the success of Los tres puentes, a great summer record that touched the souls and feet of revelers all over the world. Responses from deejays around the globe were excellent and gave him motivation for further work. In that time he also collaborated with Serbian colleague Dejan Milicevic who taught him a lot about music production and still supports him as member of Recon Warriors crew. Parting with Mexx as a regular combo few years ago, Aneuria focused on defining his own production and deejay style. He builds his sets mostly on repetitive loops, percussions and groove, thus creating tension on the dance floor, driving crowd into frenzy that always ends with some kind of surprise. That allows him to play with audience’s feelings and to build his own story, which is the essence of him as an artist. After hooking up with creative soul mates Ian F and Tomy Declerque it didn’t take long ‘till he got in touch with their friend Valentino Kanzyani, too. In the early 2008 he joined the Jesus Loved You collective as independent artist, frequently collaborating with Ian and Tomy. Their most successful joint venture so far was Tommy Joy EP. Aneuria’s own Buenoliter was included on Simplicity vol. 1 compilation and he recorded series of remixes for artists such as Umek, Angel Anx, Antoine Caesar, Danilo Tomic and Glorio Veztacci. Lately he is redefining his artist expression, fusing house roots, Balkan ethno and sounds of nature with techno patterns, taking his sound towards warmer, organic spheres. This refreshment was in sync with the new Jesus Loved You music vision and partly influenced by long studio sessions with Valentino and Ian. The fruits of their labor will be presented in the following months as some of the forthcoming JLY releases. While Aneuria’s next solo releases will be brought to you on labels such as Glorio Music, Recoon Light (Ljubiana EP) and Jesus Loved You (Baronga EP). Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement Onset 1982, Franccesco Cardenas grew up in Miami Florida constantly submersed in the best of Electronic music. With Nicaraguan roots and musical influences spreading from John Lennon to John Digweed, Franccesco began mixing things up in year 2000 and has been on an endless incline ever since. He has literally covered every corner of Florida from Jacksonville to Tallahassee, Gainesville to Miami, and every space in between. However for Franccesco it's not simply about the performance but more intrinsically about how the music plays a part in life and experience. His desire to more deeply understand the qualities of sound led him through his engineering foothold at SAE in 2004. Even beyond the studio he's constantly exposing himself to new sounds, multiple genres, events, venues, sights, tastes, anything and everything plays part to influence the musical soul. Then comes the second half, born and raised in Central Florida Luke Hunter first found his love for electronic music amongst the late 90's rave scene streaming through the state. With a passion for good music Luke set forth at an early age to pursue the dynamics of audio and quality sound. Rising through the ranks of technician to audio engineer and producer, Luke soon completed his bachelors in productions from the University of Florida in 2005. After Gainesville's music scene tapered off shortly after 2001 Luke found himself searching to reconnect and heading south to the heart of WMC territory in Miami Florida. Luke setup shop reassembling his production studio and began his journey rising in the ranks of the Miami music scene. Each and every venue, show and event is taken as a complete experience into sound that maintains the high standard of production and discerning ear that first lead Luke to his love of music. Years of music flow between these two artists but the real synergy takes place when these great minds come together behind the decks or in the studio. Collaboratively Franccesco Cardenas and Luke Hunter fuse as one under the title SanedracHunter and the two have been quickly gaining ground in the Miami scene. Appearances on WRGP FM and WVUM FM in addition to guest spots on Proton Radio have sent the duos music across the airwaves and even landed them in DJ booths moving south Florida dance floors in addition to a WMC and Ultra Music Festival 2009 appearance. This month plays host to a special exclusive mix for the Miami Underground Movement. The Artists will be in Miami WMC 09 @ Doraku Lounge March 26-South Beach-Come and Play Party by Wiked Productions. Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement IAN F. (Jesus Loved You) After a decade of successful sound blending Ian F. maintains the status of one of the most fresh-sounding deejays around. Being introduced to the art of music improvisation at an early age and heavily indulging on alternative art as a teenager, he continued to nurse this passion even more after becoming a deejay. Ian F is a member of the Jesus Loved You family, co-founder of Flow Management agency and a long time resident deejay of Ambasadi Gavioli, one of the hottest super clubs in the Mediterranean. He forefronts the new generation of promising young artists that are redefining famous Slovenian techno sound and are heavily supported by artists such as Umek and Valentino Kanzyani. Currently Ian F. spends most of the off-deck time producing music and developing his Flux:ology, which combines elements of different art expressions. After a series of releases and remixes on selected labels in Europe, Asia and USA (Jesus Loved You, Advanced, Pure Substance, Traffica, Mashtronic, Decoded, Vezotonik, Dig:Atel …), he’s dedicated to spread his eclectic art of noise even further in the forthcoming months. His production was supported by artists such Umek, Valentino Kanzyani, James Zabiela, Anthony Pappa, Armin Van Buuren, D Ramirez, Misjah, Wally Lopez, Flash Brothers, Andy Moor, Andrea Ferlin, Nick Muir, Wehbba, Marko Nastic, … = = = = = = = = = = CHALLENGES: Productions. Live Act. New expressions. Being obsessed with searching for some fresh stuff all the time, the life of producer is a constant battle for Ian F: “Currently I spend most of the off-deck time developing my own sound under the guidance of my studio guru Tomy DeClerque." Ian F’s recent production Subconscious was picked up by local Apple distributor for a TV commercial and can be heard on the MTV. Some other releases on Tested/Agent Funk, Mashtronic rec., Jesus Loved You (Valentino Kanzyani) and Traffica (Marko Nastić) are scheduled and the preliminary arrangements with some UK and Germany based labels were already struck. “Another intriguing project is Flux, for which I am joining forces with Tomy DeClerque, KayKay and Dave Morgan. Flux is a unique live act, a mixture of live music performance and electronic live act with the addition of other art expressions. It’s very alive. The structure and expression of this project varies all the time as it is under constant development. We’ve already performed in Gavioli and at one open-air party, but a lot of work still has to be put into this project.” Performing at the parties is just one side of Ian F as a musician. He indulges on combining his passion for music with other art expressions on regular basis. He's no stranger to performing at art and fashion exhibitions, poetry recitals, teaming up with pop artists and rock bands or developing soundtrack for an on-line art gallery. He even produced music and performed with a contemporary dance company at selected venues, including premiere at the 7th Annual Gala at the national theatre, which was broadcasted live on the Slovenian national television. REFERENCES: Performances. Releases. Collaborations. Ian F is established artist in the region, performing in Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina on the regular basis. His poison is techno & tech-house with expressive warm harmonies and little touches of other genres. As a long running resident of some of the top clubs and events in the north Adriatic region he already performed alongside most of the top techno artists as well as the biggest names in the industry such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Tiësto, Steve Lawler, Sasha, John Digweed if we name just a few. He's a resident deejay of Ambasada Gavioli, Fetch the Vibe events and official ambassador of Slovenian Haineken Music events. Ian F's productions were so far spun and included on track lists and charts by Anthony Pappa, Armin Van Buuren, Flash Brothers, Andy Moor, Marko Nastić, Umek, Valentino Kanzyani and other established deejays. (UK) and Croatian Decoded and Decoded Mini. As a member of SDJF initiative Ian helps develop local club infrastructure and platforms to support young artists on their first steps. Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement What's your credo? Where are not many dj's of this type - dj's who believed in techno from the first minute, dj's who have experienced techno from the very beginning, dj's who have made techno their own thing, dj's who have created their own unique styles or even more - who have developed one over the years and who's name's are synonymous with that specific sound. alex bau is one of those dj's. at the same time, however, there are some slight differences with this guy. why focus on just one style of music? why only minimal sounds? why only techno? why, if you could have a well orchestrated combination of both? Is it related to the fact that for alex bau, there was once a time before techno? with thousands of records in a collection that spans through many different types, styles and genres of music, certainly there have been many individual records which have left their own, indelible marks. there's no doubt about that! for instance, alex still does depeche mode nights from time to time, just for fun. but his activities with techno don't suffer at all from that, not in the least! with his 5+ hour sets at his first resident club in his southeast bavarian home area, the "libella", where dj hell also started his career back in the 80's, he achieved the reputation as someone who was totally aware of what he was doing, totally dedicated to it, but also someone who was totally infatuated with it. he hosted his own radio show for over 2 years on a local radio station, still the only techno show in the area. however, after countless gigs at the local clubs the time was deemed to be right to prove that he was also able to play at other venues around the globe. while collaborating with his friend sven dedek, whose productions were mainly released under the moniker's "basic implant" or "electric envoy" on labels lsuch as "fine audio recordings" from chris liebing, their tracks hit the technofloors in a very impressive way. during that time he was also able to collect international experiences behind the decks as sven played live. releases like the "phase edit ep", a highly acclaimed and well sold rework of some nitzer ebb ebm classics, or their work for dave angel's "rotation", justin berkovi's "predicaments" or pascal feos' "pv-records" enabled them to reach a much larger audience. finally, after numerous releases for different labels beside his own "toneman", alex released his debut-album "connected" in late 2004. "connected" immediately drew the attention of many high class dj's such as chris liebing, pascal feos and good groove, just to name a few. the fact that these artists, all of whom were working with different styles, grabbed the tracks from "connected", shows that the name of the album couldn't have been chosen any better. After starting his own label (toneman) back in 2000, alex also started to work on his solo productions for labels such as chris liebing's "clr" or the montreal based label, "default recordings". montreal can be seen as kind of a gauge of alex's dj activities! within 3 years he was booked in montreal four times and his set from the legendary night at aria from january 2006 was even released as a mix-cd, "live at aria / montreal" so that alex came back months later to perform for the release party, once again a night to remember for the montreal techno movement. at this point in time alex was already booked as the headliner and it was reported by numerous emails and guest book entries that it was hardly a mistake to do so but it's not only montreal where alex is being booked again and again; there are many other places, which is a good indicator that he seems to be a guy who understands what to do when standing in front of a crowd, someone who is always trying to bring the party to the max. clubs like frankfurt's "u60311", munich's "electric delicate", würzburg's "airport", or the legendary "tresor" in berlin are not only the trademarks of german techno club-culture, they can also be found on alex's gig list. brazil, usa, canada, poland, croatia, serbia, holland or the closer austria and switzerland are some of the tour stops on alex's calender, and no matter where, all over the places people can hear and feel how interesting, versatile and powerful techno can be if you understand how to combine minimal and straight techno as a constant up and down. everything is completely under control while the party is going wild, and that is what alex always goes for. The fact that alex has become an official artist on the highly acclaimed label "zenit", that he has been the platform for acts like marco carola, adam beyer, the advent, gaetano parisio and many more, is the logical consequence of years of dedicated, hard work in good, high quality techno. techno in its purest form, just as described above, is the goal for alex - whether or not it involves playing or producing. on his current album "credo", minimal tunes go together with peaktime slammers in a way that appears obvious and logical. techno can do a lot, if you let it do so. that's the credo - his credo! Special Thanks to Alex Bau... http://www.alex-bau.de/ http://www.myspace.com/alexbautechno |
