Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement DJ UMEK Uroš Umek is internationally acclaimed music producer from Slovenia, seducing the masses with his own music blend for more than a decade. Always on the look for new sounds and determined to challenge every existing cliché in music industry, he managed to define his own vision of vanguard techno. Sure, this would not happen without the support of his loyal peers who’ve joined him on the production platforms such as Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco, with which they defined “Slovenian techno sound and successfully invested it as an important driving force on the global club scene. The year 2007 marked the beginning of new chapter in Umek’s music career. After spending enormous amount of time and artistic energy bringing his characteristics sound to the whole new level, he presented new international music therapy called 1605 – Sixteenofive. No doubt this was a very risky move for such an established artist as DJ Umek. But it was the only way for him to stay on top of the game. And it seems he picked up the right decision at the crucial time: the response to his new vision of electronic dance music from his peers, critics, media and most importantly his fans is great and his productions are supported by some top dogs in the industry. Umek recent productions include highly acclaimed club releases such as Overtake & Command, Ricochet Effect, Another Matter Entirely and Faithful Nights, but it were MTV supported hit singles Posing as Me and Carbon Occasions that stirred the most media attention and crossed over to the daily radio stations. Umek’s releases were lately included on the premiere club compilations mixed by artists such as Sander Kleinenberg, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, John Digweed, M.I.K.E. or Carl Cox. He was amongst the headliners of esteemed summer music festivals such as Primavera, Monegros or Dance Valley and he conquered the South America on the joint tour with Valentino Kanzyani and Marko Nastić once more. And this was only the introduction in the Umek’s year 2008, when he plans to finally present long expected new artist album and his own live band. Special Thanks to Matthew & Umek |

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement Patrick Zigon Bio (Cocoon rec.) Patrick Zigon is hailing from Germany’s beautiful and inspiring city Konstanz at the Lake of Constance, which probably is one of the reasons why he drops such jaunty and fresh beats. Being active in the electronic music scene since 1996, Patrick since then eminently contributes to the establishment and development of electronic music in South Germany as a DJ, producer and promoter. First own releases promptly showed up in the hard-to-get-in English House scene and in the boxes of international big names. Though Patrick never liked to be pigeonholed, which he perfectly underlines with his productions for labels such as Sven Väths’ Cocoon Recordings, Anthony Rothers’ Datapunk, Puzzle Traxx, Sounderground, Tanzbar, Turbo, Great Stuff, Trapez, Traum, Treibstoff, Kling Klong and Session Deluxe. Especially his remixes for artists such as Guy Gerber, Gregor Tresher, Chris Fortier, Gui Boratto, Martin Eyerer, Extrawelt etc. show his status in the current electronic music-scene. 2005 he created himself his own little Traumraum (the german word for Dreamroom), which is not only the name of his production studio, but also the name of his event series @ venues such as his long-term Stuttgart based resident club Climax Institutes. His current releases and remixes perfectly mirror, for what Patricks name stands nowadays – hypnotic Tech House with good portion of soul. In September 2008 Patrick Zigon was honoured with the Bodensee Music Award (www.bma2008.de), in the category „Best Electronic DJ“. M.U.M & Tronic Proudly Presents "Miami Sessions with Christian Smith Live@Argentina"-M.U.M Episode 78
Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement\ Born in Stockholm, the DJ/producer has spent the last decade working relentlessly to bring his amalgamation of funky house and tribal techno to a global platform. Although Swedish by birth, Christian spent much of his youth in Frankfurt, Germany, where his father was stationed as a pilot, and this turn fate played an unexpected role in determining his musical tastes. It was the early eighties and the music at the time was early electro, soul, funk and late disco music. Groups like The SOS Band, Newcleus, funk bands like Cameo and tracks like Fade To Grey by Visage had a huge influence on Christian. Although his older brother and sister would bring home the dj mix tapes from the big clubs, with music from the pre house days. This is what Christian turned on to. By the
time Christian had turned fourteen, he looked old enough to get into
the clubs himself and became, by his own admission, "a manic train
spotter." Frequenting Sven Vaths Dorian Grey residency, this club had a
big effect on Christian. He went to the clubs for the music and to
check out the DJ's. Despite
his newfound success, Christian didn't rest on his laurels, and, for
rest of the nineties, he focused on DJing, producing and remixing as
much as possible. Releasing more EPs on Tronic, Intec and Primevil, the
Swedish DJ says that though one of his releases, Vanguard caught the
attention and support of BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, he had to keep
working as hard as ever. The really big crossover records like Move!,
on Intec and the releases on labels like Rotation and Intec opened up
his work to a lot of people. Special Thanks to Hugo B & Christian Smith!!!!!!
