Pioneer "is one that first opens or discover paths through unknown regions."

The career of DJ and producer Anderson Noise is a pioneer in electronic music from Brazil. Born in Belo Horizonte, Noise started slowly, as is the custom in his region, but never stopped to take some steps toward success.

In 1988, during the explosion of Acid House, started DJing in his hometown. Passionate about the profession, he often said that the role of DJ is move people. Followed by producing their own events from 1992, making room in the state capital for the proliferation of the electronic scene, still embryonic in place.

There were more than 40 parties produced, many in places like mental hospitals, shopping malls, car dealerships and historic buildings. The "Noise Family" became an institution, since in the event not only Anderson was involved. Mamma Noise, the mother of the DJ in person, was the hostess of the parties. Later Alvinho L Noise was excited with the turntables and boiled the dance floor next to his brother.

His first CD compilation, "Paralisia Cerebral"was released in 1996, while the dream of producing his own music became reality in the talented hands of Noise. In 1997 he was invited to include "Shantytown" in the "Electronic Music Brazil" the first CD of 100% national of the genre, released by Sony-Mercado Mundo Mix.

MUM Presents Miami Sessions with: SQL - Episode 172

Rod B, Mareis & Garfunk Brings you Miami Undeground Movement

-In the electronic music scene, it’s often hard to decipher the fact from fiction.

Phrases like “innovative”, “cutting edge” or “next big thing” are often thrown around without much weight and more often than not, the hype often exceeds people’s ability to deliver where it counts the most: the dance floor.

But if you look at the career of rising star SQL, you’d see that any of those words and many more apply, without any unjustified hype.

At just 22-years-old, Pim Van Horssen has seen more success come his way than many will in a lifetime, with a list of releases as long as your arm as well as gigs in all corners of the globe, from the massive Universo Paralello in Brazil, the clubs in New Dehli and everything in between.

And while success is nothing new to Pim, 2009 is the year his talent came to the fore, with his smash hit Distorted Reality finding its way onto the playlists of the who’s who of the minimal world, including Richie Hawtin, Marco carola and eventually right to the way to No.1 on the Beatport charts.

Blending cutting edge minimal, techno and house with fat production, hypnotic grooves and unique view to the future of dance music, the sounds from the SQL studios are now in demand by imprints from throughout the globe, including SK Supreme, Traum, Tribal Vision, Open Records and more.

With international tours on the cards, a stunning live show and heaps more freshness on the way, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that this young star of dance music has a very bright future indeed. Stayed tuned!

MUM & Radio Noise Presents: Miami Sessions with Nicole Moudaber Episode - 171

Rod B, Mareis & Garfunk Brings you Miami Undeground Movement

-

A true force to be reckoned with as a DJ and producer, Nicole Moudaber’s rise through the ranks of the DJ elite has been swift, purposeful and striking.

Propelled by her flawlessly executed, sleazy, edgy house and tough, soulful techno sound, she picked up no less than Carl Cox and Steve Lawler as early fans.

Carl snapped up her early tracks for INTEC and Steve featured her music on VIVa & iVAV.

Since then she’s supplied killer tracks for labels like 8Sided Dice, Kling Klong, Monique Musique and Waveform Recordings, while remixing names including Santos, Martin Eyer, Mauro Picotto and Fergie.

Pretty much a perfect start to an artist career that began relatively recently.

Hitting New York after a youth spent in Africa and the Middle East, Nicole initially explored her passion for electronic music as a promoter, bringing the NYC style parties she loved to Beirut for the first time, then booking huge acts for her Soundworx nights at London’s legendary Turnmills club and running Southeast Recordings.

But it was the decision to dive in and start to DJ and make music herself that was proven the most important. Once she unleashed her creativity, everything simply went ‘boom’.

Carl Cox identified her as exactly the kind of fresh talent he wanted to playing at his weekly nights at Space in Ibiza, where Nicole has since DJed regularly alongside him for the last 3 seasons.

Requests for guest mixes on both Carl and John Digweed’s internationally syndicated radio shows followed, as did the endorsement of Pete Tong, who named Nicole a rising star on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Selection.

Her tracks picked up the support of yet more DJ royalty like Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Loco Dice and Danny Tenaglia, who was so impressed when he DJed with Nicole that the two of them have been working together both in the studio and on throwing an incredible outdoor party at Ushuaia in Ibiza.

With further residencies in Ibiza - the place she now calls home – and Cologne, plus recent high profile gigs at Ministry of Sound and the SW4 festival in London plus the Dance.Here.Now Festival in New York, her reputation for groovy main room mastery has really taken hold.

Meanwhile plans for a launching a label of her own, plus a mix and tour for the hugely influential Global Underground series are all under way.

Miami Sessions presents Behind the Iron Curtain with Umek-M.U.M Episode 166

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement

DJ UMEK
For a long time, Slovenia is known for its great electronic parties, but as the local scene is of boutique dimensions, everyone, who wishes to take the art of mixing and producing to a professional level, has to go out there and enter the worldwide scene. Umek has done this step as early as in the middle of the 90s and so he became one of the most important techno players of the global techno scene, even before the end of the last millennium. Together with people, who shared the same views, he successfully captured the first era of researching and recreating the rules of the dance music in Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco platforms, which all put the sound of the Slovenian techno on the world map of electronic music.
In the beginning of the year 2007, Umek started a new 1605 Music Therapy - Sixteenofive, with which he marked the beginning of the second era of his music creation and what an era it is. 5 highly popular releases on the 1605 label with lots more planned in the next few months, a huge success of the »Day Of Electronics 09« - the main 1605 event in Krizanke (Ljubljana, Slovenia) for the third year in a row, a popular summer festival »Disconautica« (Koper, Slovenia) featuring 1605 Main Floor for the second year in a row and with over 50.000 attending people. Furthermore the 15 astonishing releases and remixes already released in 2009 are the best proof, that Umek stays focused on his primary goal – to make high quality productions that stand out from the rest and to bring this music closer to people all around the world.
The year 2009 also brought a fresh breeze in Umek’s booking department and so his new booking agency is Bullitt Bookings from the USA, that also takes care of some of the biggest names, like Dubfire, Nic Fanciulli, Shlomi Aber, Davide Squillace and many others.

Last year's releases like Is it / Longer Trail, Destructible Enviroment, S Cream, Designed Persona, You Might Hear Nothing and the latest club hit Work This Data, have caught the attention of Armada, Hell Yeah, Tronic, Dataworx and other biggest labels of the music industry and judging by Umek's tracks »Hablando« and »Slap«, released on his own label 1605, by the enormous amount of upcoming releases and the second (and first on 1605 label) album with his 10 great tracks “Responding To Dynamic” (coming in spring 2010), Umek surely isn’t going to run out of creative fuel for quite some time.

M.U.M & Noise Music Presents Miami Sessions with Anderson Noise @ Radio Noise - M.U.M Episode 164

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground Movement

Without fear of expanding his horizons, Noise promoted the first trio elétrico "Truck with a mobile sound system" with electronic music in 1999 in Carnabelô Carnival out of season Mineiro, and became mandatory attendance in subsequent years. Without knowing it, acquiring the experience to face an even greater challenge playing on electric trio of singer Daniela Mercury, during Carnival in Salvador in 2002.

The DJ stand for something besides records, awards, won in 97 "Distinction Underground" by the magazine "DJ Sound." Both times that this category existed in the award, Anderson was the winner. Are there trophies for best producer and best DJ of techno music for the prize "Night Illustrated" Erika Palomino from the newspaper "Folha de Sao Paulo"; Sparks Trophies, prize won in 3 consecutive years, offered by the newspaper "O Estado Mine "for those who waved the mining scene, so that Anderson had turned into hors-concours. In the year 2003 was highlighted by Cool Awards, awards, in 2004, gave the award for best DJ.

Anderson's career as a DJ and producer went from strength to strength. He participated in all major national events. At the festival Skol Beats was present in all editions since the first, ending the 2003 edition of apotheosis. Also participating in the electronic music tent at Rock In Rio in 2000. That was the year that his second compilation CD called "Outubro", with some tracks produced by his label "Noise Music". The label started in 1999 with the intention of bringing the world the music produced here, as in his words: "We always bought the music and the gringos gringos do not have any of our. It was music quality produced in Brazil to show to the world. "

In 2001 he became a resident of the night Headstart at Turnmills club in London, integrating a select group of Brazilian DJs that arose in the pool. While playing outside of Brazil shared the stage with great international names who came to the country. One is impressed with the quality of mining and DJ led out into the world. Carl Cox, one of the best DJs in the world, was impressed with the strength of Anderson Noise the first time they played in Brazil: "Anderson is very talented. He played with me a few times before, sometimes after. He also has his own label, Noise Music. They're good - too good to ignore. "In the 2001 copy of the" 2001 TOP 100 DJ Mag ", Cox classified Anderson as the future" DJ Hero. "

His third CD compilation came out in 2002 to please the Brazilian public. "Noisemusic Compilation 100% Mix Anderson Noise" was released by a major label, bringing all the songs the label Noise Music mixed by Anderson an awesome set list. The album was well received in Brazil and abroad, to the point of calling the attention of Trevor Rockcliffe, owner of Mentor, respected British label, who heard the material and just wanted to release "Do It Yourself" by his label. Noise was also 2002 that launched his radio show, RADIO NOISE, hosted on your site, with weekly programs.

In 2003, Anderson was invited by DJ Magazine, one of the worlds most respected publication dedicated to electronic music for his fourth CD, "DJ World Series - Anderson Noise." In a series of five records that the magazine released, where each DJ, representing a continent, made an album with productions of his country. Anderson was chosen to represent Latin America.

Since then, his international career only grew Noise: participated in international festivals from Dance Valley, Homelands, Creamfields, Sonar, Exit, Rock In Rio Lisbon, Nokia Trends, SAMC, Knebworth Ministry of Sound. His performances earned him the world the opportunity to play in Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Ecuador, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States, France, Holland, England, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Czech Republic, Serbia and Montenegro, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan, Uruguay and Venezuela. His songs and albums were released by international labels AFULAB, Audio, Music Circle, disappeared Here, Eukatech, Harthouse, Jericho, Lo Kik, Mentor, Missile, Molecular Pild, Primate, Really Really Big Records, Sleaze, Spectrum & Teggno and ride the world.

His fifth CD is innovative for the Brazilian public, "Anderson Noise Live @ Skol Beats 04" is the first nationwide electronic music CD recorded live during his presentation in one of the largest festivals of its kind in Latin America. And Anderson's relentless, he released a DVD of the first Brazilian DJ "Brazilian Love Affair", which can follow the national gigs Anderson, the clubs where it is resident.

In 2005 the TV NOISE Noise created in conjunction with Toro products, with weekly programs, in which the clubs DJ shows, parties and festivals in which plays in Brazil and worldwide.

In 2006 the second time the DJ ended the Skol Beats, the main festival of Latin America and was considered by DJ Magazine, a top 100 DJ, entering as the No. 79 ranking.

In 2007 Anderson Noise again put the name of Brazil in the ranking of the top 100 DJs of the world's most popular DJ MAG, this time in the 54 ° position. Also his song "Man-Dog" went on the trail of the film commented, "The Past", directed by Hector Babenco.

In 2008, the DJ launched nine EPs and was invited by Spanish club La Terrazza to compile its annual CD which had the partnership of German Circle Music label. Noise also re-appear in the Top 100 DJ DJ MAG, this time as 26 of the ranking, being the only Brazilian DJ to keep the list for 3 years and which achieved the best ranking to date.

In the first week of 2009 Anderson Noise released their second DVD, the "Connection 1969," the first documentary about a DJ basileiro, along with his seventh CD compilations of the "NOISE CONNECTION", all of it with own productions, remixes and unreleased mixes. That same year, participated in its DVD 10 edition of FILE International Festival of Electronic Language. Anderson was also voted the number 1 DJ by DJ magazine in the country BRAZIL MAG

Also in 2009 Anderson Noise was invited by João Carlos Martins to start the project, Anderson Noise and John Carlos Martins in Concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra Bachiana, which resulted in an exciting concert combining electronic music and classical music in the room São Paulo.
Currently a resident of Anderson Noise Clash Club (Sao Paulo), Deputamadre (Belo Horizonte) and D-Edge (Sao Paulo)
For him, there is no limit that can not be exceeded. Thing who is creative and pioneering.

M.U.M & 1605 Sessions Presents Miami Sessions with Umek Live@Row 14, Barcelona, Spain- M.U.M Episode 157

Miami Sessions with DJ Yousef - M.U.M. Episode 153

Miami Sessions with DJ Yousef - M.U.M. Episode 153 - Miami Underground Movement

The new decade sees Yousef consolidating his status as an international DJ, Producer, Club Promoter and Music aficionado with ever greater impact. Last year saw him achieve a first, the release of his debut artist album - A Collection of Scars & Situations’ finally laying down on wax a watermark of his effervescent personality. It showcased the different dynamics to his sound as a performer - heavy support from the usual rag tag ensemble of dance music greats; Sasha, Danny Tengalia, Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Radio Slave and Nick Curly among them.

‘A Collection of Scars & Situations’ was more than just your typical DJ led collection of bangers. They are catered for of course, most resplendently by the pulsating tech house monster ‘Legacy’ (bolstered by a superb archaic vocal from Derrick Carter) and the Beyer - esque ‘Equilibrium’. But it’s the haunting electronica of ‘Birthday Thoughts’ and ‘A Moment of Clarity’ that gave the album its gritty edge, two bleak almost dystopian efforts which channel the darker undercurrents of electronic music perfectly, DJs, clubbers and the Music media were universal in the praise.

“Legacy” was picked up for global single release by Renaissance. It garnered plays all over specialist dance radio worldwide (most notably John Digweed, Carl Cox and BBC Radio One’s Pete Tong), as well the coveted DMC single of the week; it was dubbed “one of the stand out tracks of 2009”. When Yousef was asked to contribute an essential mix from the world renowned Creamfields, he set about remaking the track into the ‘Terrace Edit’, taking the track into a newer and fresher direction (two further ep’s are set to drop for renaissance in 2010).

It continued the mutual love affair between Yousef and Germany, the hub of worldwide electronic music. He signed two new EP’s to Mannheim’s premier league label Plastic City, and after season long support from Sven Vath, “Come home” was released on the world’s most followed electronic music brand Cocoon. It blew up, cutting across the spectrum of house and techno, making ‘Essential new tune’ on Pete Tong’s Radio One show, with consistent support from John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and of course Vath himself. A certain dj names Sasha fell in love with the composition so much he asjked to remix it, which he has in fine style (out on cocoon in mid 2010). Yousef was then signed to Berlins’ leading DJ agency WILDE for his bookings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while he remains in the hands of Safehouse management for the rest of the world, also home to Carl Cox.

The international love has never been stronger for Yousef. The first international DJ to play the troubled nation of Syria. Ibiza, with its arcane hedonism and wild party ethos has always served as an adequate stomping ground for his cross genre grooves. And of course he’s back there this year... with a vengeance! South America has also shown a stronger allure for Yousef, with further ground being broken in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil increasing his continental lustre. A recent 6 date tour on Indonesia showed how far yousefs reach is getting. Closer to home, he clocked up his first London Residency by inking a monthly deal at Matter, the brainchild of Fabric impresario Keith Reilly. Matter NYE saw another iconic Yousef DJ set, taking over from Vath at 2am for the inaugural Cocoon party and delivering a three hour onslaught of fierce and brutal house and techno to a 3500 capacity club.

In 2009 yousef remixed Dj Sneak, Fergie and Tobii to devastating effect. 2010 has already seen an earth-shattering remix of Moby’s ‘Wait for me’ completed, plus his touch gifted to Gilles Peterson’s Havana Band project and new kid “Teva” with yousef’s floor devastating circus rework of “you cant teach this”. He remixed two UK legends (X-Press 2’s ‘Say What’ and Fatboy Slim’s ‘Local Town’, the latter featuring rasp voiced rudeboy Jamie T), whilst Nic Fanciulli and his Saved Imprint continue to show their love, with the aforementioned album’s ‘I Suggest’ out now with the superb ‘Firecracker’ on the flip one of two 2010 ep’s for nic’s imprint. The other “my explanation / dis information” already championed by tong on his rather well known radio weekly as well as support from underground house dons Rebbot and Nick Curly among many others. Further Eps for renaissance and debuts on carl cox’s Intec and seminal (vath started) Harthouse records both follow this year… Of course with a follow up on cocoon too…

Yousef’s own Circus Recordings also notched up a year of releases since launching in 2008, churning out eight Yousef singles which have illustrated the madness and hedonism of the club he has created.

Yousefs monthly event celebrated seven years at the apex of Liverpool’s club scene in September last year and he is still pulling line-ups together that makes the accountants balk and the clubbers froth at the mouth. House music at its kaleidoscopic best, heavyweight names such as Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Loco Dice, Dubfire, and Eric Prydz have faced off with the of the young upstarts of the underground like; Jamie Jones, Tim Green, Sebo K and Davide Squillace have been amongst others for debut Liverpool shows.

Oh and they got their thug on with Cocoon, bringing Vath and his imperial hedonism to Liverpool for the first time ever in a scintillating party that peaked on every sensory element. There’s little the club night hasn’t done or booked, and with this year already seeing return slots for John Digweed and Derrick Carter, plus debuts for Heidi, Guy Gerber and the irrepressible groove icon Ricardo Vilalobos, there’s seems little left for them to prove. So, just when things couldn’t peak any further for circus Radio One were looking for a club to host the 500th essential mix party. They considered every major club worldwide, circus was (in the words of radio one) the only choice…. Yousef and his long lasting partner Richard went to work, pulling in Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Aeroplane, of course Pete Tong and yousef himself. A 4 hour live global broadcast from circus in its original 1100 capacity club followed. Circus’ finest hour…? Maybe, we’ve thought that before.

It’s this process of constant evolution rather than reinvention which has characterised Yousef’s career, and kept him at the forefront of promoters’ thoughts across the globe. And there’s the small matter of him running the London marathon, raising cash for CALM and showcasing his serious edge to the party reputation he’s always encased. Record Label Owner and Internationally renowned club promoter, it’s a far cry from the excess which defined wilder youth, confirming his professionalism and dedication to the acid house dream.

Whether criss-crossing the globe with his arsenal of varied sounds or impregnating his own individual aural histrionics on wax, Yousef is stamping his identity on dance music and leaving a lasting impression. There’s few who come close in terms of dedication or in the variance of approach, Yousef hits each and every base with alarming regularity. And the best part yet? The journey has only just begun... it’s now a big cliché but, undeniably, but, 2010 really is Yousef’s year.
